mrs. hyde

Last night at a special Zumba event I wore some super snazzy pants. They always elicit a heck of a response and yesterday was no exception. People would say, "Ooo I love your pants!" or "Woah! Those are some crazy pants!" I would laugh and respond by saying, "aren't they rad? I love them because at home I'm just a mom but at Zumba, well, you see." At which point I would extend one leg and trace my leg with my hands. :)

Something about Zumba and dancing in general is so liberating. I get to shed my Mommy of Two image and become a Zumba Mami instead! I wear loud clothes and shake my booty, boobies and anything else that will wiggle. I get DOWN ya'll! I cherish the time Zumba gives me to escape the reality of my, lets face it, pretty average home life. NOW, don't get me wrong, I LOVE my home life like nobodys business but I just cherish the chance to play my Mrs. Hyde side on occasion.

So let me ask you this, where in this world do you turn on your alter ego? It can be during game night, while running, with the music blaring in the car or, dare I say (of course I dare! You know me!) in the bedroom?! I'd like to know because I don't think I'm the least bit crazy when I slap on some skin tight tie dye and get up in front a group of strangers and sweat like a man. It's my release, my moment, "my dove" if you will. :)

I love zumba too... It is so fun. And since I grew up pretty sheltered in Utah, it let's me shake it like I never really got to in the clubs (because I never went, Ha!) when I was younger.
I also have dance parties with my kids and teach them zumba moves at home, they love it.
One of these days I'm just going to go get certified so I can be an instructor.

Kat,

you could not have said it better. I feel the same way even if im not an instructor. I wear my silly ragged and cut off t-shirts. something i would never wear in real life, never, ever hahaha. I sweat, i shake my booty, and everything that giggles like you say, i touch my body and feel sexy, i feel strong, i feel young, i feel silly, i feel fun :) the same with Jam.

Those are some pretty snazzy pants, i have to agree. You are making me really want to have this baby so i can go to some fun classes and shed off this fabulous cellulite starting to accumulate. So depressing!!!!

You're awesome Kat and you look smokin hot! I'd have to say mine is on the court. I can smack talk like no one could imagine when I'm on the basketball court. Sadly, it doesn't happen that often. However, I am very happy with my day to day life, but it wouldn't hurt to get some me time a little more.
