details! details!

Ok, I'll tell you about the house. I figure I will post the details today and then after we get the keys tomorrow I can post some pictures of the inside. I am so freakin' excited btw. It still hasn't sunk in that it's about to be ours! AHHH!

Anyway, so yes she is huge! By huge I mean 2907 sq feet to be exact. When we started looking at houses we never ever considered looking at homes so big but then this one came on the market and we were sold immediately.

Here is the back story. We had casually started looking at homes for purchase right after the baby was born. When I say casually I mean we didn't even have a realtor. We just looked at the realty websites online and drove around. One day we saw a home with a pool and we called the realtor on the sign. He turned out to be very knowledgeable, not too pushy and accommodating. A few days later Michael had been through a rough call shift and his attending decided randomly to give him the next day off. It was on this day that we called our new realtor to show us some houses. Right before we were heading out the door Michael found our house online. The listing had been posted no more than an hour before and I was totally intrigued. When we hooked up with the realtor he showed us some crappity crap foreclosures and then we asked about our house. He laughed and said that his good friend who worked in his office had just posted that listing today and that he would be happy to show it to us. Four hours later we put in an offer. This was a Friday, on Monday they had accepted our offer and here we are now. It was crazy! A total whirlwind and there were so many tiny little things that just worked out besides Michael having a random day off, finding a realtor who knew the listing agent and seeing the house listing one hour after it was posted. So. Many. Things. I can't even explain.

So yes, I realize it is huge and too big for our family but it was right and we are so happy. It has four bedrooms upstairs and a den/guest room downstairs. There are 3 bathrooms, a formal living and dining room, a family room just off the kitchen and an eat in breakfast nook. It was the model home for the development and has never been lived in. There are upgrades all over the joint, one of which is a fully landscaped front and back yard (very rare for track homes down here) and the family room is even pre-wired for built in surround sound! What the what?!

We got a great deal but the house will still probably be mostly unfurnished for a looooong time. I think all of the empty space will be good for Jack to go crazy in. I can't wait to not have anyone living above me, to have a real yard rather than a parking lot for Jack to play in and to paint my walls whatever the crap color I want. It's going to be so fun. I will post pictures as soon as we get the keys. BTW, I want everyone to stop being jealous! Remember! We live in Tucson, Arizona people, there is nothing to be jealous about. I promise. Thanks for all the excited comments. I especially love the one about our garage having its own guest room. :)

WOW WOWOWOW! I am excited that it definitely came through. It is huge, but that will be fun to think about all the different ways you can do it up. Not to mention it will make painting super easy.

I am so excited for you guys! And, ahem, Tucson, AZ is a very nice place and I think could warrant some jealousy.

2,900 sq ft. wow! haha, and you said I had a good deal because mine is 1,600 :D now, I live in the tiny place. Great job... so much better than moving to a Rio Cancion townhome!! I can't wait to visit and have jimmy go crazy with jack in it.

Well it's only 3X's the size of mine. Sweet deal though. I wouldn't have passed it up either.
Buying your first house together is VERY exciting! Let me know when you put your pool in =). We'll come hang out EVERYDAY!!!!!

yay! i'm so excited for you. you are going to love having a backyard! I rarely see Jackson since we moved into our place...although AZ is a scooch warmer :)...on another note, the awesome shirt Jackson was wearing is a total hand-me down, as are 90% of everything he owns. It's from old navy. so cute right?! also, I have a medical question for your husband...how long does he recommend pumping and dumping after having anesthesia? I am trying to prepare some frozen milk reserves for Logan and I have a surgery coming up, so I'm wondering how much I need to stock pile beforehand??
okay, i think that's it. oh and also did i mention I HEART your new house, it's incredible, nice work!
