The Christmas Post

Apparently I have become the boring blogger that I always hated. My last two posts have been heavily ignored which is ok just a dose of reality that I didn't want to accept. I guess I should stop caring that no one else really cares and just post the boring Christmas post that everyone else is debating on doing. What can it hurt? I mean, it is my blog and most days when it comes down to things like wearing my pajamas to the grocery store at 2 in the afternoon I don't care what other people think. So why start caring now? I must just be overly sensitive from this pregnancy. So for now, here is the predictable, boring Christmas post and maybe someday in the future I will have a great post full of hilarious stories, great ideas and exciting news. Don't hold your breath.

It all started last Monday when our good friends Samuel and Heather Bigler came down with their two girls to visit.

They're the kind of friends you make once in a lifetime and we love them. SOOO glad we got to see them!

Then I worked hard for the next two days crafting a few more decorations, wrapping gifts and baking a lot lot lot.

Quick baking list with recipes available upon request:
Toffee Chunk Cheesecake
All American Peanut Butter Pie
Homemade crescent rolls with like 3 steps and NO KNEADING!!! (I think I ended up making three separate batches on three separate occasions! Popular little morsels.)
Homemade Cornbread Stuffing
Gingerbread Men and Women (soft, delicious and not too time consuming)
Sugar Cookies
Perfect Pie Crust
German Pancakes with fruit and Whipped Cream
Hot, Creamy, Baked Spinach and Artichoke Dip

That is all I can remember for now. Let me know if you want any of the recipes.

In the face of all the madness we even made time for some fun and relaxing.

By Wednesday we had my parents, brothers Nate and Ghent and sister Anna with her two daughters Jadyn and Savanna. It was a full house...full of joy! I honestly can't remember a better Christmas. And to top it off, I finally got the one present that had eluded me all these years...THE EASY BAKE OVEN. (No photos of the un-wrapping because I cried so hard I had the ugly cry going on. Yeah. It was that exciting!)

It was a magical Christmas full of memories, delicious food and strengthened relationships. I feel so good moving into the new year that I don't even care how much weight I have gained! :) I am grateful most of all to my husband who was so loving and supportive. I could never have pulled it off without him.

On a lighter note. My son has realized that by repeating my name (Mama) several times, growing progressively louder that he will eventually get my attention. The best part is that half the time he has nothing to say and just grins at the fact that he finally got my attention! I swear this kid is the cutest little manipulative smarty pants in the world. I love him so much it hurts, my chest actually aches. Ah.

Cute post Kat. I didn't realize that I had ignored your last few posts. If it makes you feel any better my last post was VERY ignored. I know how you feel... I love you and I'm so glad your Christmas was so great. I can't believe all the cooking you've done! And to top it off your house and decorations look fabulous. And to add to even that you got your easy bake oven!!!! I'm sure that was the icing on the cake. You'll have to whip me up some of those delicious brownies one day. I've been craving those since 1989.

no worries Kat, I'm the queen of boring blogs! I wonder if I'm related to Samuel... where is he from?

I really like your Christmas decorations and that you did so much awesome baking. And I loved your Christmas card! For all of our good intentions, Dave and I didn't end up sending one out-again! We are lame.

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE the recipes for your crescent rolls, Gingerbread cookies, Perfect Pie Crust and Spinach and Artichoke Dip por favor. You must be the next Martha Stewart. When I was pregnant I used it at an excuse to hardly ever cook. Lazy butt. That's what I am. :) Also, the alarm clock issue. How about setting one alarm clock on your side of the bed and when it goes off gently nudge your honey off the bed onto the floor? He won't sleep through that. :)

Jack is a handsome little boy! The pictures of him in the air are great!
