Surfer Baby

Yesterday was another wonderful day. We went to a beach near Diamond head and Daddy watched Chunky while Mommy went out surfing. It was a long paddle out to a break I had never surfed before and it was going off. Well, maybe not "going off" to someone totally awesome at surfing like my husband but to a little scaredy cat like me...it was huge! After getting outside I gathered up some courage and paddled hard for the biggest wave of my life. It was a steep drop but I made it and stood up to look down the long face. I rode that "big" wave and then fell but was so excited I almost let out a woohoo! It was a gnarly day of surfing for a Caucasian dancer from Utah!

On to the most important part of the trip, Chunky caught his first wave! (No worries, not the waves Mommy was surfing, just the tiny waves that lap on the shore.) It was so cute to watch him on the surfboard because he was so excited. He clapped his hands and waved the whole time. Everyone on the beach was captivated by my cute baby boy. What an awesome day in the sun. Seriously good times! :)

BTW, please ignore how annoying I sound at the end of the video. It is still cute to watch Chunky on the board right? My apologies...

Brave brave woman! I've lived here for 10 yrs (minus a 2-year hiatus in UT) and i've NEVER for the life of me, even TRIED to surf. I heard that one can get motion sick and just for that I'm too chicken to try it! YOU GO GIRL!

How cool!

So, I was telling Amy that you know her and she asked what Dance you were in together. What should I tell her?

You live such a fun life! I miss you!

P.S.
Wyatt kept pointing at the movie clip saying, "Adah Aduh Aduh" which apparently means "Again! Again! Again!" So we watched it maybe 300 times. He's jealous. We both are.

Alright, I admit it: i stalk your blog. And that picture of your son on his dad's back while he's paddling out just earned my husband the new surfboard he's been asking for. He sends his thanks that your cute family just made me cave in - even though our bank account just declared you its mortal enemy.

PS - your fitness blog is truely inspiring also. Keep it up.
