ALOHA

Well now that I got that off my chest I guess we can move into the details of our soon to be life.

We will be living on the Garden Isle of Kauai. Exactly where we aren't sure yet but we have to be within 30 minutes of the hospital for when Michael is on call so we have a good idea of the area we'd like to live.

Michael graduates Anesthesia residency at the end of June and we will move sometime around then. The logistics of the whole thing will probably be messy but hey, it's a small sacrifice.

We welcome any and all visitors or "visitors." You know the kind that need a free place to stay but don't really want to spend a ton of time with you catching up in semi-awkwardness. It's all good people. We're happy to have pretty much anyone. That being said, please don't call me from the Lihue Airport asking for a ride or directions. Let's plan it before you arrive. :)

We had the lucky chance to meet a white college student (I mentioned this earlier) who settled our nerves about being a forever haole and inadequate schooling for the kids. We are confident that our babes will be able to get a solid education there.

We spent time with a Realtor and discovered the wonderful housing difference between homes on Oahu and homes on Kauai. It was amazing what you can get for your money there and in great areas too.

Yes it is a small island. Roughly 60,000 people populate the entire island. I am aware of this and not scared of this so don't probe me with questions like, "aren't you going to get island fever? Where will you shop? What will you do for fun?" or any other sort of nice/not very nice questions. Thanks. I'm not being defensive I just know that island life, very small island life, is not for everyone. Thank goodness it's for me.

I could go on and on about more tiny details but I think that's enough for now. If anything really exciting happens I'll post about it. I just want to thank everyone for the congratulations, the well wishes and the joy. We feel overwhelmingly blessed like our dreams have come true. The grinning going on in the Clark house is a little bit nutty but then again so is all the happy running man dancing so I guess they compliment each other.

Ummm...can I fast-forward my life a few years? I'm so jealous that you guys are at the stage you are. So jealous. Just thought you'd like to know that! Kauai was my favorite when I went to Hawaii. I just wanted to spend years investigating all the hidden jewels of the island. We may take you up on the visiting thing at some point! CONGRATULATIONS!
