A few nights ago I was drawing a bath for the kids. While Jack was pulling his shirt and underwear off I asked him if he needed to go pee. He said yes so I told him to go before getting in the tub. While standing outside the tub, he proceeded to lean over the edge of the tub and pee directly into the water as it filled. At first I wanted to stop him and scold him, then I just busted up laughing and watched him finish his business. After all, I'm the one who told him that peeing in the tub wasn't a big deal, only pooping in the tub was. So technically, he wasn't breaking any rules.
Then last night, while I was again running the bath I set Violet in the water and told Jack to get in. Before I could learn from my mistake he was standing up on the corner of the tub and peeing a long yellow stream down into the bath. What do you think happened next? You guessed it. Little Miss Violet saw a beautiful golden stream cascading down from above and decided to run her little hand through it. She stuck her fingers right into his pee stream and rolled her hand over in it. Before I could even lunge forward to stop what was going on what do you think I did? That's right, I lost control and almost fell over from laughter. After all, pee is sterile isn't it? And they hadn't even been soaped up yet so there was still time to sanitize. Kids are hilarious. If only I had a video camera constantly running I'd be rich from winning every single episode of AFV.

oh gross. i put story in the bath once and before she sat down she clenched her cheeks together and peed, a stream shot out like she was a little boy. i too couldn't help but laugh. :)

Axel pees either in the tub or outside the tub while waiting to get in almost every single time he gets a bath. I am trying to think of a way to get him to do that over the toilet so we can start potty training...

There's something magnetic to kids about the yellow stream.........they HAVE to touch it, make shapes with it, spread the love, and squirt with it. Kids are just born with it. And yes, pee is sterile......well, it better be because if it's not all that was squirted all over Iris' face and my pants the other day (no I didn't change my pants, I let it dry and ran my errands....nice huh) should've been REALLY gross to me then, huh. :)

Okay I can get with peeing in the shower but the tub? I can't get on board with that!
