its time

Hello friends. It's that time again. Time to can some pears. I did this last year and it turned out really great. I can only hope that I pull it off again somehow. I loved having those sweet delicious pears after my pregnancy with Violet. They seriously were like candy and so convenient to crack open. I know some of you think, why don't you just go and buy a can of pears from the store? To you I say, try it, you'll like it. It's strangely rewarding.

On a side note I decided against cutting my hair. Everyone had great advice and was very sweet and convincing but in the end, the Don't-do-its won. Especially when Lindy said that short hair should be reserved for the older years. I think that is a good plan. I did however go to the Instyle website and "try on" some celebrity hairstyles. It was really fun and I highly recommend it to anyone. Maybe one day, when I am bored and feeling bold (or more bold than usual) I will post those.

Um...I want to come and do this with you!!!!! I LOVED bottled pears and when I was young, my mom and I would bottle them together. And every Saturday morning, my dad would puree our bottled pears and we'd put that and whipped cream on our whole wheat waffles. SO delicious. Canned don't even come close!!!

Seriously, if you want a bottling buddy, count me in!

see! there you go again being all domestic. It's people like you that give all of us totally non-domestic, kitchen illiterate, people like me a bad wrap. I mean seriously, I wouldn't even know where to begin even if I really really wanted to can something. hmmm...maybe I need to move to Tucson and steal some of your skills

What a domestic housewife you are. I'm sure Chad would appreciate it if I were a little more domestic. All he gets is a wife that ocassionally cooks dinner. Once in a blue moon she irons his clothes. She does clean, but never sews (doesn't even know how to) and of course she does a terrible job when it comes to laundry. The type of job where she doesn't begin doing it 'til he's out of clean undershirts and by the time she finally gets them out of the dryer they are a big wrinkly ball. (the last load usually sits in the dryer until the next week when it's laundry time again =) ) Woohoo go me!

I think I always comment on your pictures, but seriously, how can you make a row of pears look so good? Looks like something from a catalog. Have you taken a photography class?

I totally agree with you! Homemade canned pears and peaches are BY FAR more delicious than the ones in the store, and better for you. Plus you can use alternative sweeteners if you need to, which is why I want to do it this year.I have also thought about canning baby food? Have you ever done that before? I like the pictures you took of your pears. Very artsy. :)

OH I need to give you props on your pizza recipe. I used it for a YW activity last night and EVERYONE loved it. Each member of the Bishopric even came up to us after and asked about the recipe. I never made it before last night because Kory can't eat it, but it worked great for our activity! Thanks again for posting it :)

Have I ever mentioned how much I want to steal your sister's camera? Ugh I just love all the pictures you guys take with that thing, seriously amazing! And by can do you mean put in a jar or an actual can? Obviously I have no clue how the canning process works. I don't even know how to work an electric can opener but that's a whole other story about why you should never pet-sit a rich person's deaf dog and blind cat. Anyhow have fun with the pears!
