Hawaii

Warning Number 1: Lots and lots of pictures are to follow this announcment.

Warning Number 2: That is not a beached blue whale it is just Big Momma so don't worry.

Seriously no more than ten minutes after landing this happened. Do you think he could be anymore at home?

This magical little Ipod was what saved us on the plane ride and at night when Michael and I weren't ready for bed. Oh thank heaven for Barney and Yo Gabba Gabba!

Just lovin' Daddy and Waikiki. Our evening destination.

"Ba bye Daddy!" Michael got some serious and much needed surf.

Little guy was too cold to go into to the deep alone. He was so timid about the waves when they were non-existent and then would charge them when they were crashing?! Crazy little dude.

One of our few family photos thanks to the kind British girl on the beach. Can you tell which way the sun is shining? A little bit squinty? :)

This is Jack's new facial response to "smile." Of course we think it is the funniest, cutest thing ever but to the outsider it is probably just ugly.

Here is another family photo. Fat neck included for your viewing pleasure.

In order to keep this a fairly positive blog post I won't directly comment on this photo. Let me just remind you that you asked for it.

Total cheese and bologna with his "juice." Who knew that a water bottle with a pop top could make all the difference in convincing a kid that it's not actually water, it's "juice?" Genius.

Just kickin' it.

Once again my little Ham with his gnarly teefs. Can anyone say braces?! :)

This is of course a picture of Josie, her companion and I. I really didn't mean to see her since it's against the rules but we randomly saw her on the street in Laie when we went to pick up Michael's brother. It was the perfect accident and Jack was all shy and excited like she was the love of his life. Good times.

This was such an amazing trip and we are transitioning back home pretty well. Jack woke up Sunday morning after getting home and the first thing he asked for was the beach. What a doll face. I am so glad that we all got what we needed. Michael surfed his brains out, I finally got a tan and Jack got some special alone time with Mommy and Daddy. Priceless.

Feeling Crafty

Hi friends. Just wanted to post since it's been a while. I had a busy and good weekend and here is what I was up to. Disclaimer: If any of these ideas/designs are yours then sorry I ripped you off. Take it as a compliment that I like your stuff enough to copy it! :)

These are cloth diapers all snazzed up. They make the best most absorbent burp cloths.

These two are nursing covers. If you have ever heard of Hooter Hiders or Bebe Au Lait then you know what I'm talking about. Basically the most convenient and genius nursing cover up in the world. My mom bought me one before Jack and it was like 35 dollars. Although it was probably the best 35 dollars she ever spent I whipped up these little numbers for less than 8 bucks.

These are tutus for the daughters of a good friend. I know they are cheesy but a healthy dose of cheese is just what the doctor ordered sometimes.

Besides sewing a bunch we took a trip up to Mt Lemmon so Jack could get his first take on snow. Let's just say he was not a fan.

Other than that, I have no real news to report. Just the fact that we are leaving for Hawaii in 3 days and every time I think about it I get so excited I pee a little! Woot! Woot!

My Cute Kid

I recently had a request for more pictures of me on my blog but I just can't do it. I am pasty and nasty and fat and ugly. If I think of any other appropriate adjectives I will add those in later. At least I'm not so zitty anymore. Anyway, this is of course a post about my little man. He is so precious lately even though he is cutting teeth and irritable. Whenever I ask him who is in my tummy he pulls up my shirt and gives my belly a kiss and makes a feeble but cute attempt at saying, "Violet." Sometimes he will do it randomly without me even asking and it totally melts my heart. Plus he is just such a cool little dude. I bought Michael a skateboard for Christmas and it has quickly become Jack's skateboard instead. Here are some random pics including some of the beanie I knit for him last week. It was my first project and it totally looks like it. But it was still fun to learn to knit and it makes me excited to get better!

Hey Friends!!!

Now you know since I titled my post something so sweet and friendly that it means I am about to ask for something. So here she is...do any of you know someone with a rental property in Hawaii available during the week of January 18th? We are desperate to go this time after our November attempt didn't quite pan out and we really don't want to have to stay in one of those "budget" hotels in Waikiki. They really aren't a great deal price wise or quality wise so we were hoping to find a rental. We don't care if it's North Shore or in Town. We just need it to be on Oahu and available. Let me know asap because we are trying to hurry up and put this trip together. Thank you. Thank you. Hope to hear from someone! Fingers crossed!

Really?! Really?!

I have been waiting to write this post since 5:00 am this morning. Let me explain. Out internet was out for a couple days so the butt crack repair man showed up about 10 minutes ago. Finally! Now I can ask for your opinion on the matter that has plagued me all day.

So just out of curiosity, do any of you find it acceptable that my husband sets 3 alarms which go off from 5-5:30 every morning sometimes semi-simultaneously and sometimes within 1 minute of each other. Not only do the alarms go off and off and off and off because he snoozes, but I have to wake him up to tell him to turn them off because he sleeps through them. Is this fair? Am I crazy to dream of the days when we can have separate bedrooms? Or am I being unfair because he gets up so early everyday and I get to sleep in everyday? Should I be more lenient or should I make him start sleeping on the couch?

To add to this annoyance is the fact that my body has now adjusted to the early morning awakening. What I mean is, everyday, even the weekends, I spontaneously wake up at 5 and have a very hard time falling asleep till around 6. I am programmed! Does anyone have a solution? This morning I considered throwing the alarm across the room and listening with glee as it splintered into a million tiny plastic pieces. There has to be an alternative! And no, smothering my husband with my pillow is not the solution I am looking for. I really do love him. I just hate him from about 5 am to 6 am.

So everyone...fix it. I have tried yelling, kicking, begging, pleading, bribing and everything I can think of to change the situation. If you knew me at all in high school you know that I am stubborn. Imagine that same level of stubbornness and multiply it by 50 and that equals my husband. He is set on setting 3 alarms and pissing me off every morning. There has got to be a better solution than separate bedrooms!
