A couple of books

So as you all know I am a professional tv-holic, however, I also really really love to read. Sometimes I actually try and do both at the same time, which is pretty pathetic. Anyway, I wanted to post about a couple of books I have read in the last week.

This may come as a shock (insert dry sarcastic tone here) but I am a total nerd and loved the Twilight series right along with the other bajillion people out there. This obsession keeps me checking the Stephenie Meyers website basically everyday. Ok there is no need to throw the "basically" in that sentence, I actually do check it everyday. If any of you out there are as lame as me you know that her last post was about a book that she was reading called The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. She wasn't lying when she said it was amazing. I was so desperate to finish reading it that I almost skipped out of church early to finish it.

Next, I just finished a book called Zipped tonight written by Laura and Tom McNeal. It was not quite as gripping as The Hunger Games but was well written and witty and I liked it. Plus Laura McNeal is a Mormon so there were some familiar references in there which was kind of fun.

Both of the books are young adult novels which might be a turn off to some of you. For me it makes them even better for some reason. I wonder if I will be like Uncle Rico from Napoleon Dynamite someday and buy a time machine off ebay to relive my high school glory days? If any of you end up reading or have read either of these two books let me know what you think.

As for the Twilight series, those books are not up for discussion. I have realized that it is just way too hard for me to hear anyone's critiques of the books without getting really defensive. And since this pregnancy has made me extra mean and evil I don't want to lose any friends. So skip speaking about Twilight but please pipe up about the other two if you get around to it. Peace.

Sometimes...

Sometimes I love reading other peoples blogs and sometimes I want to comment on a post and just be brutal. Say something like, "that was so boring I am now dumber for having read it." (I have everyone worried don't I? The power! The power! ha ha!) No really, I know that I have been the boring blogger more than once but sometimes it is just so disappointing.

Sometimes I don't want to hold my farts in when we're watching tv on the couch. I know they stink and it grosses my husband out but seriously! I am pregnant and having bowel trouble! Don't I deserve to float an air biscuit when I darn well please?

Sometimes I am so ugly. That time usually happens when I am pregnant. I progressively get more and more fat, pale, lazy, zitty and what ever other ugliness you can imagine. Even my teeth seem to yellow more quickly! I hate myself. (Not really but you get the idea.)

Sometimes, no wait, every single, freaking night, I watch too much tv. I mean, even on Fridays and I don't know if you know this but they don't have TGIF on tv anymore. So there is absolutely no reason for me to be watching this much tv on Fridays let alone any other night. I am not asking for alternatives because I have them, I am just confessing my slothfulness.

Sometimes I talk too much, wait...that is all the time.

My knack

I have an uncanny knack for making really good friends or really bitter enemies. Sure there are people who fall comfortably in between but many of my most note worthy relationships with people are on either end of the extreme. Just thought I would share seeing as how I was given a reminder of this "talent" a few days ago. I would really like it if this talent would shift and I only had the ability to make really great friends. Okay dudes, have a rockin' weekend!

My Husband...

1. Does your husband
a) take out the trash? He used to take it out like a champ.
b) do the dishes? When we lived in Tennessee he would on occasion.
c) do the laundry? No.
d) clean the bathroom? Not once, ever.

2. Does your husband
a) tickle your arm? No.
b) rub your feet? When we were engaged and when I was super pregnant with Jack.
c) massage your back? No.
d) buy you tampons and midol? Yes.

3. Does your husband
a) pick his nose? No, he thinks it is the most disgusting thing in the world!
b) keep his hand down his pants when on the couch? Occasionally.
c) fart in your direction? No.
d) leave the toilet seat up? Yes, but not too often.

4. Does your husband
a) bring you flowers? He used to once a month.
b) take you to dinner? Fairly often.
c) watch chick flicks with you? Not unless I want to listen to snide remarks from him the whole time!
d) take you shopping gladly and willingly? Never, he is the budget hound. Everything is too expensive unless it's free. ;)

Why I will go to jail someday

What a strange title for a post right?! No really, I will end up in prison for murdering the Doodlebops. If you haven't seen this show on the Disney channel then the tender mercies from above have saved you. If you have, then you can justify my seeing red.

Some clarifications...

1. I don't have hemorrhoids yet people!. I may get them, in fact as I said before, it is likely, but you can rest assured I will not inform you once I do. Somehow there is a difference between letting you know that I will have them and then letting you know when I actually do. Moving on...

2. My reasons for avoiding play group like a deathly flesh eating plague may not have anything to do with the people there. In fact, who said they did in the first place?! Easy on the assumptions...

3. Last I love you all and I love all the feedback and support. Blogs are way cool dude.

A few things

Sometimes I am funny. Like last night when the Body Combat instructor was picking on me for doing Body Step and I said, "you better watch out or I'm gonna come to your class and fart and clear everyone out!"

Sometimes I am mean. Like when I read all of Josie's text messages a couple of weeks ago out of boredom while she was sleeping.

It is getting harder and harder to poop. Yikes! I am only 8 or so weeks along. It is looking like hemorrhoids are going to be unavoidable this time...wa wa wa.

Jack is even more cuddly now than he was when I was nursing him. Hallelujah!!! I was so worried I would miss out on our snuggle time.

This weekend will be my first official day/days away from Jack and I am getting a little nervous. I always daydream about it but now that it is happening it is like, "lions and tigers and bears oh my!"

I am having a hard time ceasing shopping even though I know soon I will be enormous and unable to wear the things I am buying.

I will never go to another ward play group ever again! EVER!

Mexican food is sooooo good!

And that's that.

A loooooong two weeks

The baby and I are finally back in Tucson after taking a two week hiatus. We spent the first week in Montana with my Grampa, Mom, sister Josie and Michael. Then we drove all the way to Utah and hung out there for a couple of days. After seeing some of the best friends ever we went to see some more in Vegas and some wonderful family too. Then we finished driving and landed in Tucson once again. That is a long way to drive with a one year old people. However, I refuse to bore you with the details. Instead here is a bit of what we did and saw.

The water was FA-reezing! and he had just been licked in the face by a strange dog... Did I say the water was cold? Check out a close up of my face, it says it all. Warmin' up with Gramma. Daddy is the greatest. Jack was the official paddle boat driver. What a stud. Redneck Momma and redneck baby posing with the cute sister... I saved the best for last. A video of Grampa putting Jack's life jacket on. Do you think he liked it? (Sorry about the black annoyance in the shot, I didn't realize the shutter was stuck.)
