I was tagged by Amy to post things that I am thankful for that start with the letters of my name. I figure I should take advantage of this post by using my whole name Katherine instead of just Kat. So here goes.
K-Kitty cats. Not because I like cats at all but because it is a cute nick name for me and because when ever you ask Jack what a kitty says he goes meow. And it is the cutest meow ever.
A-Aerobics because it is keeping my legs from looking as pregnant as the rest of me and because it hurts so good.
T-The temple. I was able to go with Josie less than a week before she went into the MTC and it was such a cool experience. I always feel so grounded after.
H-Hotdogs from Costco. The best dollar fifty I will ever spend in a single day will always be on a Costco hotdog and soda.
E-Expression. I am grateful that I am free to express myself at all times through everything.
R-Remote controls. Can you imagine it if we still had to get up off the couch to change the channel?! Ugh! I probably wouldn't watch that much t.v. and what a shame that would be! ;)
I-Internet. How would I connect with my family, friends and old weird high school acquantances? How would I find out the useless information that I am so famous for?
N-My natural ability to nurture. I of course didn't realize that I had this ability until I had Jack but for me I consider this an ability that should be featured on Heroes. It's that amazing. :)
E-Eggs. I made Jack with my own eggs and now I made another baby with my own eggs. Pretty cool hugh? And a bit graphic, sorry. :I
Shanks Amy for tagging me. I tag Eevi, Melissa, Becca and Margaret. Have fun ladies!

Vacation week in San Diego
This is a random smattering of our trip to California last week. As some of you may know we were hoping to make it to Hawaii but felt it was more "financially responsible" to skip it for now. In other words, if we wanted to have any sort of Christmas at all then we couldn't afford Hawaii. :) We ended up having a blast in California thanks to some super warm Santa Ana winds and great company. We owe a huge thanks to Jeff and Jenn and their kids for putting up with us for so long! The pictures that follow are in no particular order and were taken with Josie's super sweet camera. That is the reason there are so many, we couldn't stop using it! Michael and I practically fought over whose turn it was! Anyway, enjoy! BTW, the first picture is a re-enactment of the day Jack was born. It was all his idea. :)

A kick in the pants!
Sorry no pics this post since I am still in California but trust me, as soon as we get home there are about 300 or so to download, sort through and post!
Moving on. I just wondered if it is silly of me to always try to convince Michael to try and feel this baby kick. I am technically only 17 weeks but I swear this little bugger will come out prepared to sub my aerobics classes while I recover from delivery! I know it is hard for an "outsider" to feel what is going on inside but I just think that he should try because what if he feels it? Wouldn't that be exciting?! Maybe I am over excited. I guess I am just falling in love with every little movement and I want the love of my life to be able to do the same. Sappy, I know. Sorry.
Last tidbit. I watched Love Actually tonight on tv and let me just remind all of you who have seen it to watch it again. I also want to inform those who haven't seen it to go ahead and proceed to do so. Not only is it so funny and witty but it is so stinkin' romantic. I balled my eyes out, which officially makes this the third day in a row I have cried! Man, I am so pregnant.
Oh ok, just one last thing, for real this time. Could all of you please stop posting sentimental things. I read a post and look at your pictures and cry! Please stop being cute and sensitive and please stop having sweet moments. Thanks, by stopping you will be helping my husband's sanity return. :)

Christmas Cards
Hey friends! I might seem a little bit old fashioned but Michael and I always send out Christmas cards. This post is a call for addresses. If you would like one email me your home address at katillac765@gmail.com. Please don't be shy! Even if we have only reconnected through blogging recently and haven't spoken since high school I would still love to send you some holiday cheer! I really do love sending and receiving cards so I hope to hear from many of you. Also, if you are out of the country or in a faraway place, who cares! I have family everywhere anyway. :) I am sooooo excited for Christmas this year!!! Yipee!

6th folder 6th picture
I was tagged by my good friend Margaret and the deal is you post the 6th picture in your 6th folder on your computer.

I am not exactly sure what beach we are at but Jack sure looks funny. Can you believe how small he is?! I can't believe it and I'm his "Mama"! Anyway, seeing as how this is my first tag ever I figure I should keep it going.
I tag Jeanette, Camille, Chelsea, Carmen, Jenny Flower and Lindy. I guess that's that.

How I've Changed
I have just been thinking lately about how different I am now compared to before I had Jack. It is so cliche to say that babies change everything but when people say that they really mean it. The list I am about to write could go on for hours but here are just a few examples.
Then:
Wake up in the morning and get ready for school while watching the Today Show and having a leisurely breakfast.
Now:
Wake up in the morning and immediately start coming up with tactics to get Jack to have a healthy breakfast. Fail and feed him Cookie Crisp while watching Sesame Street. Don't get to brush teeth until nap time which is around noon. Ew.
Then:
Try on a hundred different outfits until you look skinny, cute and stylish enough.
Now:
Smell the pits and crotch of what is on the floor. Make sure it fits in the appropriate places ie: boobs, butt, belly and thighs. Proceed to tackle 17 month old in order to dress him in some form of pants and shirt. Fail regularly and allow said child to run around outside in diaper and Converse.
Then:
Lie seductively on the bed waiting for Michael to discover me.
Now:
Hide under covers until gloriously falling asleep and hope that no one finds me.
Then:
Go out on dates to the movies and dinner.
Now:
Put Jack down around 7:30, get undressed down to my underwear and let it all hang out while watching Jerry Maguire for the 10 millionth time.
Then:
Stay out late with friends or at shows just chilling and being cool.
Now:
Get mad when the people upstairs are awake after 11 pm on a weekend. Start wondering to yourself, "who are these hooligans?" Shake your head in disgust at the carnal behaviors that must be commencing at such a late hour.
Then:
Browse iTunes and the internet for new bands and new music daily.
Now:
Get excited when Yo Gabba Gabba has a band that you recognize and feel cool before you realize you are watching a show created for pre-schoolers.
Then:
Go shopping on Saturdays and spend hours trying things on and analyzing your every flaw. End up purchasing dollars and dollars worth of merchandise and feeling good about yourself. Go to local hotspot eatery for post shopping salad (with dressing on the side of course).
Now:
Realize you are too fat for your outdated jeans. Throw the baby in the stroller make a Super Market Sweep dash through Old Navy's super sale section. Grab a size bigger, buy it and speed back home to finish dinner. Try on the jeans, cry at your ugliness, sigh in defeat and rip the tag off knowing you will wear them no matter how ugly just to avoid shopping again.
Then:
Privately clean my nose and shave my legs every other day.
Now:
Pick boogers out of Jack's nose everyday and shave when you have private time. Basically once a week.
Then:
Achieve total and ultimate happiness according to your waist size and the scale.
Now:
Achieve total and ultimate happiness by taking one look at my son.
Cheesy ending. You got a problem with that?

FYI
Just to let you all know, I felt the baby kick for the first time a couple of nights ago. Totally unexpected and really light but still very exciting. It must be all the aerobics I am doing! It's gonna come out wearing spandex and a sweatband!!! ;) It is so neat to have this feeling again. I remember being on an airplane when I first felt Jack. My sister in law had just described what it would feel like the night before. She said it felt like someone throwing cotton balls at the inside of your tummy and she was soooo right. Right now this is so light that I think it feels more like bubbles popping inside my tummy. Whatever it is, I am so excited for it.

Cooking Dinner
I just wanted to know how many of you cook dinner and how often you do it? What do you cook? Is it like spaghetti or mac n cheese or is it roast with mashed potatoes? If you only cook a few times a week what do you do on the days and nights that you don't cook? Also, for the stay at home moms, what do you do for lunch everyday? Are you cool with peanut butter and jelly or do you cook then too?
I probably cook dinner 4-5 nights a week. It ranges from roast to pizza to chili. I also hate having to do all the cooking and the clean-up but I don't have the kind of husband who will do the dishes. Don't get me wrong he does other things, just not that. Anyway, now that I am pregnant and always hungry I feel like I am always either cooking, cleaning or eating. I just want to know if there is an easier and cheaper way? I forgot to mention that too. Somehow, our monthly food bill is outrageous! NO! I am not eating that much! I guess I just have expensive taste but it's not like I am buying filet mignon and prime rib. So tips, advice, whatever please. Make my life easier. :)

Trunk or Treat
Jack was a lion this year and we bought the cheapest costume but of course he was so cute in it. He never ceases to be adorable and that's why we love him! We went to the trunk or treat with everyone dressed up but that only lasted about ten minutes and not for the reasons that you would think. Instead of my 1 1/2 year old getting fussy in his getup it was my husband. I guess I should give him a break since he was wrapped in tin foil from head to toe! Josie is here visiting and she was cool enough to join in our shenanigans and dress up as the scarecrow. Last but not least, I was Dorothy. My home-made skirt was extremely uneven and see through but hey we made it work with some ribbon and a slip! All in all, our Wizard of Oz crew looked pretty good and we had alot of fun.
Ah Yeah! Skittles!

My husband dressed as last nights leftovers, I mean the tin man.

The whole Wizard of Oz crew.

I think I am a little bit excited. What do you think? :)

Apparently Jack's favorite candy is the Crunch Bar because every time he had the opportunity to choose out of an assortment he went right for the blue wrapper. It was cute and he had so much fun once he realized he could go from car to car and get free sweets! I tell you what, when candy is involved they learn really fast. Halloween is the best!
